‘Kayla is a dependable player that leads by example and is a competitor at heart. She continues to be a student of the game by studying film from game opponents and her matchups nightly. She has a high IQ for the game, which is needed from the point guard position. She does a good job at getting into the gaps of the defense and distributing the ball to her teammates.
Not only can she create for her teammates, but she is a point guard with the ability to score the ball and create her own shot off the bounce. She can knock down the mid-range jump shot at an elite level and knock down the 3-ball consistently. She is good in pick and roll actions by making the right reads against different coverages, but also getting into her midrange pullup.
Kayla is an elite-level on-ball defender at the point guard position. She understands the strengths and weaknesses of her matchups. In one season, she led UNC Charlotte’s team in steals. Kayla is strong enough to guard multiple guard positions, and uses her physical strength to take away the offensive player’s strong spots.
Kayla is coachable and a joy to be around. She understands what it takes to show up every night on the highest level. She is a point guard that can not only take on a high-minute load, but defend as well. She would be a great addition to any team that decides to pick her up. Not only will they get a great competitor and floor general, but an even dependable person. Those characteristics are needed from any great pg.’
